The skirting board is the narrow, horizontal strip of wood or other floor-based materials, covering the lower part of the inner or outer wall at the point where it joins the floor for protection and cleanliness purposes. Most often the same material and color are chosen as the flooring material, in particular for laminate floors there is the profile N.68.
